Organizational Development

Organizational Development is focused on understanding the people, processes, and systems that are at the heart of any organization. Unlike other management consultant functions, organizational development involves looking at the organization as a whole (systems thinking), helping improve the interactions among the different parts, and assessing the underlying values, beliefs, or commitments that influence the whole organization.

As an experienced organizational/educational leaders and consultants, we help leaders, teams, and organizations flourish by identifying who they are, why things work they way they do, and where improvements can be made that lead to a healthier, stronger organization. This primarily involves discerning patterns of behavior and thinking that affect the whole system and then changing the processes that produce those patterns.

The Right Consultant

The single most critical factor in a successful client-consultant relationship is trust. A consultant builds trust by being a great listener and asker of good questions, taking time to understand the needs and nature of the organization, and demonstrating the soft people skills and hard knowledge skills needed for effective organizational development.

Your consultant will essentially function as a member of the team for the duration of the project. As an outside, objective observer, his or her role is to provide accurate, insightful, and meaningful feedback so that the organization’s members clearly understand themselves better. The consultant must therefore be able to work within your organizational culture, build rapport with your employees, bring credibility and knowledge to the conversation, be relatable, and be able to present complex insights and findings in a way others can comprehend.

Our Approach

Organizational identity, culture, missional alignment and communication, leader-follower relationships, team building, and organizational learning are some of the primary concerns of our consulting work. Using the 3P Consulting Approach:

[/fusion_text][fusion_accordion hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”org-toggles”][fusion_toggle title=”PARTNER” open=”no”]

We partner with leaders and teams to identify and accomplish their goals. Our job is to walk alongside and empower the client, not to impose “expert” answers onto the situation. We are there to listen, understand, and provide feedback and recommendations.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”PROCESS” open=”no”]

To do this, we focus on discovering the underlying processes that shape how the organization actually functions and thinks. Uncovering these patterns is key to identify the points at which meaningful, strategic change can happen. We want to help you know and understand your company and why it works the way it does, both the whole and the parts.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”PLAN” open=”no”]

Finally, we work with you to develop a plan of action to help accomplish your end goals. Whether this be process analysis and change management, ongoing coaching relationship, providing development for leadership or staff, corporate branding, the final outcome is a plan that changes your future.
